Amanda Durepos | Please

Amanda Durepos’ latest show is a paper-based exploration of the word “please.” Pleasing, pleading. Having to ask for permission, for more. Longing and jealousy. Incredulity! Desperation. The show was inspired by a whirlwind year of online dating and empowerment through the internet.

Amanda’s  collages are whimsical, sometimes funny, sometimes uncomfortable, and always uncanny. Her work is an exploration of technology and how it shapes culture and behavior: how the internet impacts our relationships, alters our perception of ourselves, and silently documents our lives (for better or for worse).

Amanda Durepos holds a BFA from Concordia University and is a member of Montreal-based art collective CTRL+V.
