In this series, memories, trauma, loss and hope compound. Ben Williamson’s paintings gauge the complexities of contemporary life. They are his response to the saturated, and often strange, world we live in.
The Exhibition “Memory Loss” began with a box filled with thousands of travel photographs that Ben found on the street: one couple’s lifetime of photographs left to the elements. Which memories are kept, and which are lost? Ben’s series looks at those images which compound on his own memories, funny little remembrances, and the loss of history in the process of moving, growing old, or suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
